Michelle is a registered dental hygienist and has been for over ten years. She earned her Associates Degree in Applied Science from Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York in 1997.  Michelle graduated with honours and distinction and is very proud of her chosen career path.  "It is a skill for a hygienist to clean teeth but it is an art to do it well". Michelle takes great pride in her gentle chairside approach and is very thorough with the treatment she provides.  

In September 2007, Bill 171 was passed and for Michelle, that's when everything changed. "The bill meant that Dental Hygienists could now self-initiate, which means that they are now allowed to work outside of a typical dental office and provide dental hygiene treatments in a more relaxed, dental hygiene setting free from needles and the sound of drills."  For Michelle it meant the openning of Frosted Smile Dental Hygiene Boutique.  This also meant that Michelle could open a clinic and set her own fees.  The fees set in frosted smile are 20% below the dental hygiene fee guide and 30-50% below the dental fee guide. 

Michelle has been running Frosted Smile for almost 2 years now.  She has a variety of clients from 3 years of age to 85 years of age.  Most clients have a family dentist that they visit for routine check ups but visit Michelle at Frosted Smile for cleaning and whitening needs.  Others are refered to local dentists that Michelle works closely with.  As private dental hygiene practice is fairly new to Ontraio, Michelle has noticed an increased awareness and demand for alternative care options and is pleased to make a difference in so many!
